How to use Naphazoline eye drops

  • Naphazoline is a vasoconstrictor used to relieve symptoms of red, itchy eyes and nasal congestion.
  • Naphazoline exerts its effect by acting on alpha-adrenergic receptors in the arteries, causing vasoconstriction, thus reducing congestion, itching, irritation, and redness.

Medical uses of Ocurid eye drops

  • Used for the temporary relief of eye redness caused by eye irritation.
  • It is used to treat eye inflammation and allergy symptoms.

How to use Ocurid eye drops

  • Eye products are usually sterile, so make sure the container is undamaged before use and also close the cap after taking your dose (if using a single-use unit, throw the used unit away after use)
  • Tilt your head back slightly and look up.
  • Pull the lower eyelid down.
  • With your other hand, turn the eye drop bottle upside down near your eye. Try not to touch your eye as you do this.
  • Use enough pressure to release one drop (or the contents of the ampoule) into your eye.
  • Make sure the medicine gets into your eye.
  • Close your eye for a minute or two, and gently press on the side of your nose. This prevents loss of eye drops and keeps the medicine in place.
  • The recommended dosage is one or two drops (or ampoules) in the affected eye(s) as needed.
  • A higher dose may be prescribed in cases of severe dehydration.
  • Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure how to use this medicine.
  • Doses may be changed under special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.
  • If you take more medicine than you should, talk to a doctor or go to the hospital immediately.
  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember unless it is almost time for your next dose.
  • Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a missed dose.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure and wear sunglasses.

How to store Ocurid eye drops

  • Store below 25°C.
  • Do not refrigerate unopened package.
  • Do not use for more than 28 days after opening the package, unless advised otherwise by your pharmacist.
  • Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
  • Must be stored in the original container to protect from moisture.
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date printed on the carton/blister/label. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
